about

Drawing ensō, the ancient Zen practice of drawing a circle in one or two fluid brush strokes. The aim is not precision of form, but fluidity of hand to arm to body to mind. When we attempt to draw a circle we are in essence simulating perfection - doomed by our body to fail. Drawing a circle to define. Drawing a circle to confine. To exclude. To protect. To end where you began.

Drawing a circle is Noah Rosa’s latest body of work. Created over a year of isolation in Montreal, the album functions as a sort of soundtrack to an imaginary documentary about the collapse of society. The 8 song run length dealing with themes of environmental anxiety, pain cycles, ancient wisdom, and nebulous spirituality.

All proceeds from this album's sales will go to Grassroots Al-Quds (www.grassrootsalquds.net) to support Palestinian resilience.

about

Noah Rosa Montreal, Québec

Noah Rosa crafts precarious sound sculptures that draw the listener into an uncanny world, both ancient and futuristic. Exploring themes of environmental devastation and nebulous spirituality, his music is bleak yet hopeful. Instruments are filtered through a prismatic lens of digital destruction, appearing on the other side worn and murky as if emerging from a primeval bed of fungus and algae. ... more
