about

All proceeds from this album will go directly to Resilience Montreal for the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal. (www.nwsm.info)

This project began with the following message, sent to a bunch of musician friends:

"I had an idea to make a collaborative improvised composition with some of my favourite musicians in this time of isolation. If you wish to be a part of it, send me a 5 to 10 minute improvisation in the Modal world of C Lydian, either around 120 bpm or abstractly rhythmless. Harmony, melody, textural ambience, percussion are all welcomed! Any instrument/voice/sound. I will assemble all the submitted audio into a piece to be released with all proceeds going to Resilience Montreal for the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal. The piece will be centred around the theme of universal solidarity and unity.

"

The music you hear is the unified effort of the artists who submitted audio. Every component was created blind, recorded separately in our respective isolation, and edited together into this work.

about

Noah Rosa Montreal, Québec

Noah Rosa crafts precarious sound sculptures that draw the listener into an uncanny world, both ancient and futuristic. Exploring themes of environmental devastation and nebulous spirituality, his music is bleak yet hopeful. Instruments are filtered through a prismatic lens of digital destruction, appearing on the other side worn and murky as if emerging from a primeval bed of fungus and algae. ... more
